Last year was my first time going to Diner en Blanc – Dallas and I was completely mesmerized by all of the happenings. As a first timer, I didn’t fully know what to expect. (But I explained it for you here if you’d like to check it out) Luckily, that didn’t stop me from having the the best “picnic” ever. Well, this year I was determined to make it even better than last year! Mission accomplished.
Outfit en Blanc
The first, and in my opinion biggest, change was my outfit to Diner en Blanc this year. Last year, I work this slick, figure forming number that was super cute, but super tight. Don’t get me wrong, I was super fly, but it was a bit uncomfortable. PLUS I wore brand new shoes which was a HUGE mistake because my toes were all blistery (I know – TMI) after a night of dancing and gallivanting. This year, I bought a super cute floral dress that was very forgiving and comfortable. It was light enough to keep me from getting hot, but thick enough to camouflage the fact that I ate way too much food that day. Winning. I even found a super cute headband with a ridiculous bow, which I loved. And my shoes? The same from last year, but by now they’d been broken in. Thank the LAWD I walked away unharmed that night! Even after tearing up the dance floor!
Friends en Blanc
Maybe it was because I was new to Dallas, but last year I knew all of one person that was at Diner en Blanc. This year, a bunch of my blogger buddies were there to keep me company. Of course that made everything even better! We danced, we posed, we sipped – on the most delicious Apothic wine a girl could ask for.
Views en Blanc
As though all the things I’ve listed so far weren’t enough, the views at this year’s party were amazing. For one, there were SO many more people at this one, which is saying a lot. Secodnly, it was in the heart of Downtown Dallas with unobstructed views of the city, the Reunion Tower, and the Omni Hotel. It was beautiful. On top of that, people really brought their A game with the decorations this year. It was definitely a site to see!
If you can’t already tell, it was a pretty spectacular night. I can’t wait until next year so I can do it all over again. I’m especially excited to find out where the new secret location will be!
