Historic Downtown Plano Wine Walk

I love wine. And let’s be honest – if you’re reading this right now its proooobably because you do too. Personally, I love a good bold red, but that doesn’t keep me from trying other types too. So when I was asked to go on the Plano Wine Walk, I jumped at the chance to prance around historic downtown and sip some vino! I’ll give you a few tips throughout this post. The first tip being – wear comfortable shoes!

I went on the wine walk with my friend, blogger at Busy Being Shasha. We had a blast! The Plano Wine Walk starts when you pick up your wine glass and map of places to visit. If you’re like me and post like crazy on Instagram, they even have a hashtag you can use to see who else is on the walk!

The wine was obviously the best part. I loved trying so many different stores, many being small businesses, that I hadn’t tried before the walk. From bold reds to light whites, the vendors each had something new to offer!

Here’s a tip: Bring some water with you on the walk. There’s a LOT of wine involved here and staying hydrated is going to SAVE you! Especially if you go to one of the walks in this Texas summer heat. Nothing beats Texas heat like Texas’s own Ozarka water. At events like this, I keep water in my bag cause these 100 degree temperatures are brutal.

Another thing I loved about the wine walk was all of the entertainment along the way. There were musicians and art everywhere that paired well with my Malbec. I even met a new friend on the walk, but he was entirely too comfy to move for the likes of me.

This was actually my first time in Downtown Plano but it definitely wasn’t my last. I love the old-time Texas feel that it has. Its just another thing about this great state that I’ve fallen in love with since moving here. I feel like there are a ton of businesses that call Texas home that I’ve never even heard of. So when Ozarka sent me a curated box of Texas-made products I was THRILLED to try them.

Let’s just say that after the Wine Walk, I had a hint of the munchies. Which brings me to my last tip – eat food, and lots of it, to soak up that wine! Luckily, the Paqui chips added a ton of flavor to the nachos I made when I got home!
