Who else considers February 1st the start of their resolutions? I don’t know why, but I can never get my act all the way together in January. I mean, it can be a lot of change at once! Well, towards the end of January I started actually working out an eating better. Then, Nokia sent me their Steal HR activity tracker watch and my motivation persisted! Now I’m not gonna lie, I didn’t even know Nokia made anything other than phones. But, apparently they do and so far I’m impressed.
Nokia Steel HR Activity Tracker
I’ve tried other activity trackers in the past, and they all have their ups and downs. But, I love that this watch is cute and powerful! It looks like a regular schmegular watch, until I push the little button on the side. Then it does all kinds of things. It not only has features of a digital watch, it also senses my heart rate and tells me how many steps I’ve taken that day. Because it tracks steps, it can tell how far I’ve walked and calories I’ve burned.
The app that goes with the activity tracker, Health Mate, makes the watch even that much cooler. It tracks your sleep, and gives you a deeper look into what your week looked like and how your averages are. You can sign up for a Wellness program based on what you need to work on. For me, I wanted to focus on my body composition and find new ways to lose fat forever. So I chose the Better Body program.
The Better Body program is 8 weeks long and a great way for me to stay on track. The great thing about it is it allows me to pause the program and set my own pace. Because I’m just starting back working out the way I should, my water breaks are a bit longer than they once were – so this is super helpful! The only part about it I don’t love is weighing in every day. I only weigh myself when I go to doctor visits because I don’t like to concentrate on numbers. But I’m sure once the pounds start dropping I’ll be more excited about this.
Now y’all know I like to go hiking a lot. Normally when I go, I put my phone on silent, throw it into my backpack and only take it out to take pictures. I don’t typically care if I miss a text message here and there, but if it’s one of my parents I rather see that on time. Well this watch has a smart assistant that notifies me if I get a call or text message! It gave me a little vibration and told me who the message or call is from. If it was from someone important, I knew to take my phone out. If it was from an ex I’d keep the phone in my bag and deal with that crap later.
Another thing I love about the activity tracker is that is how long I can go without charging it! I don’t know what kind of voodoo magic they put in this thing, but I went a week without charging it. I mean I was working out, taking showers (oh yeah, it’s water resistant AF too) and traveling to North Carolina with this watch. Honestly, it never told me it needed a charge, but I put it on one anyways as a reward for sticking through.
I really think I received this watch just in the nick of time. It’s been a great motivator to kick off my fitness journey and get back on track! P.S. I totally bought the Nokia Body – BMI Wi-Fi Scale too! I’ve always wanted a scale that syncs with my phone and it made sense to get one that worked with my new watch! I’ll let you know later how much I like/dislike it.
