Push, Run, and Ride at Strong Fitness Dallas

Strong Fitness Dallas is known for it’s hardcore crossfit gym, but now they have more to offer. They recently started doing fitness classes with more cardio and less weights. I was excited, when I arrived, because I thought I’d finally be trying out crossfit. But after being corrected and walking into the classroom, I learned different and took a big gulp.

The Strong Fitness Workout

Each class includes 4 different stations – cycling, running, weight lifting, and TRX. Mind you, two of those things are my least favorite workouts, but still. I went and checked out the gym with my Dallas Fitness Ambassadors crew and almost turned around as soon as I walked in. Luckily I toughed it out, but I was definitely having flashbacks of a time that haunted me.

Running

Remember when I went to Beyond 500 and almost died? Well the new fitness classes at Strong Fitness have something in common with them – self propelled treadmills. *dun Dun DUUUUN* They look like so much fun, and don’t sound that hard. I mean you control how fast you go by running either closer to the front or closer to the back of the treadmill. Well, these things are death and I almost fell off like 5 times. However, I did like that Strong Fitness had different levels that you could run at in their class.

Cycling

Another part of the workout is cycling. You may have guessed that this is the second part of the workout that I wasn’t too excited about. I never even lift off the seat in cycling classes because I’m too tired. However, and I think this is because of the class being broken up, I stood up almost every time the instructor asked us to! I was on cloud nine about that afterwards. Definitely a win in my book.

TRX

There was also a weight lifting portion and a TRX station. I’ve only done TRX a handful of times and it always kicks my butt. I do like TRX work though because I always feel super strong afterwards. I love that you use your own body weight to build muscle. It was a pretty fun routine we did at Strong Fitness. Lots of arm work, which is my weak spot. I was definitely sore the next day.

After we sweat, we drink!

After the workout, we were treated to cocktails and snacks. Strong Fitness brought out Substance, a local juice company, to create the cocktails. They also gave us swag and gave away 2 Lululemon mats. It was awesome!

The Verdict

All-in-all I would definitely recommend Strong Fitness to you guys. If you like tough workouts with a lot of variety, this is the class for you. The only thing I didn’t like about the class was that it felt like a lot for just one instructor. But somehow, she made it work!
