I went to the Texas State Fair with Anthony this weekend for the first time. Holy moly. Am I the only person that didn’t expect the Texas State Fair to be so HUGE? They had every ride imaginable, free concerts and events, and food….ohhh the food. Lord, please forgive me for the things I ate at the Texas State Fair. It was my first time, and I honestly did not expect there to be so many innovative fried foods! For all of my health nuts reading this, turn away now. I can promise you that the only healthy thing that I did at the Texas State Fair was walk from vendor to vendor. **hides face in shame**
I can not get over the amount of food that was at the state fair! Plus, the fact that every single booth had a new creation that I’ve probably never heard of! It was ridiculous. Here are all of the foods Anthony and I ate.
Bacon-Wrapped Turkey Leg
Bacon Margarita
Piña Colada in a Pineapple
Beer Bratwurst on a Stick
Deep Fried Bacon
Cowboy Burrito
Loaded Nachos
Pizza
Philly Cheesesteak Potatoes
Deep Fried Cookies and Cream
Deep Fried Snickers
This Corndog Sausage Thing (that was a foot long)
Salted Caramel Yogurt
Salt Water Taffy
Strawberry Shortcake Funnel Cake
Plain Funnel Cake
Part of me wishes I was kidding when I say we ate all that food. The other part of me thinks it was the best meal I’ve had in years. I should probably also point out that Anthony and I aren’t superhuman. All of this was consumed over the span of two days. (That makes it a little better, right?)
When we weren’t pigging out, we were just walking around being a cutesy couple checking out the sites.
I even got to milk a cow!
Plus I got to watch all of the brave souls get on rides I would probably embarrass myself on.
This particular ride was so hot even the cup wore sunglasses!
Needless to say, we loved the State Fair. We will definitely be back (because we bought season passes). But worry not, we won’t be pigging out like we did last weekend again! We have literally been to the gym every day since because we felt so guilty.
