I’ve been doing a lot more traveling this year than I have in my entire life! I’ve been to a few states all over the US, and I’m writing this from Montego Bay, Jamaica! It’s been a blast. However, if you know me IRL, or watch my Instastories, you know that I’m a bit of a nervous flier. For some reason I’m fine with taking off and landing, but sitting around the airport gets my heart rate up!
One of the ways I calm myself down is by listening to “Can’t Give Up Now” by Mary Mary on repeat. Y’all, I listen to that song from the moment I make it through security until the flight attendants are walking around handing out drinks! The only issue with that is I tend to miss some of the “important announcements” made over the intercom at the airport. Luckily, I was recently sent a pair of AfterShokz that solved that problem!
If you’re not familiar with AfterShokz, they’re headphones that do not go in, or cover up your ear. They actually sit in front of your ear and send the music through your cheek bones! How crazy is that? If i’m being totally honest, I didn’t think they would work that well when I received them. I mean, I’ve only ever worn headphones that cover my earhole! However, the sound from the AfterShokz was totally clear – and loud. Plus, when I wear them at the airport I can hear when all of those pesky announcements.
That’s not the only time these come in handy when I’m traveling. When I take long walks on the beach, or even through the resort, these are perfect. I can easily hear if someone is calling my name, or walking up behind me. It’s important to be aware of your surroundings, especially when exploring alone. And who doesn’t like a little personal time? They also come in an array of colors, but of course the pink ones are my favorite.
No matter if you’re traveling alone, or hiking at home, AfterShokz are a great choice!
