You guys, I can’t make this stuff up. One day I was watching Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives and they were featuring Afrah in Dallas! I thought to myself, “Ooooh that looks good. I need to go there.” Not long after, I got an email inviting me to try out their food! UHM YES PLEASE! #freefoodisthebestfood Anyways, it didn’t disappoint! Just look at all the deliciousness that they brought to try!!
Appetizers
Okay, technically these are Pies, but I totally used them as bread to sop up my food! Yum! The meat pie and the mozzarella pie were both really good, but my favorite was the green one, the Zaatar.
I also tried the falafel, hummus, baba ghanoush, grape leaves, and fried kibbe (this combo is also know as the Afrah Sampler)! I was pleasantly surprised by the falafel. The grape leaves are my all time fav!!
The salad was also on point! The crispy chip things they put on top added the perfect crunch – and in my opinion, really made the salad!
Entrees
Uhmmmm, they bought out a TRAY of meats for us to try and I was (not so literally) in hog heaven! The beef, the chicken, the bread. YAAAS! Its amazing how perfectly seasoned everything was. Actually, one of the owners goes to each of their stores (in Irving and Dallas) every day to make sure they’re cooking the food right/adding enough salt! Its well worth the drive, my friend. This food was super yummy.
Pro tip: Make sure you get the garlic sauce (extra if you can). Its good on EVERYTHING that I tried. We all loved it so much that they gave us some to take home with us!
Dessert
One word: GELATO! Ughhhhh. I wish I had some with me while i”m typing this. My favorites were the red velvet (duh) and the pistachio-oh-my-gosh. Okay, its not called that, but its SO STINKING GOOD! I dare you to eat it without saying OMG!
Oh, and if gelato’s not your thing, how about something from their pastry case? Not pictured is the DANKELICIOUS baklava that they gave its OWN display case!
Seriously, I don’t care if you’ve never had Mediterranean food or if you’re addicted, you need to try out Afrah! Its SO good and they really make their food with love. You can find them in two locations. Find your closest one on their website.
